An email footer comes at the end of an email and tells the recipient who sent it and guides them to ways that they can manage their membership in the email list. The design process in this example was more simple and self-guided; taking the new colors and graphical elements provided by the university and seeing how they could be combined for a more current, visually pleasing, and attention-grabbing footer.
The main elements considered were the palm frond, both in pattern and form, and the bull, which is the University of South Florida’s mascot. Palm trees are also a common sight on the Tampa campus, especially around the art building. There is also a tilted 2-color bar that works well as a divider, which was included here.
Six visual options were developed in Adobe Illustrator and then discussed with the administration to determine what best fit the visual feel of the USF College of The Arts. The dark USF green with the lemongrass bull was chosen. This can be seen at the end of the screen-captured email. The email design was also updated through Constant Contact’s design tools to include the USF green and incorporate the palm frond pattern in its background.
